15th of december and you are good…

A busy day yesterday, but here come the calendar.

Today this day I was thinking about leadership and training. Is it not funny that the only way to get praise is to got a personal trainer:-). We are not so generous with praise to our colleagues and friends as we should be. And as guide and adventure partner this one of the most important factors to encourage to new limits.

Praise Positive Reviews and Comments

And the music today, horse jazz..

See ya

14th of December and 4 F****** seconds..

imagesMV3BX4KQ

Today it is time to open number 14, and today the life is mean:-). The challenge this week was to row 2k(with rowing-machine). The target was to reach sub 7 minutes. Started up controlled, and it felt good. After 900m it started to become tough. The speed went down a little and the payment for it got expensive. Trying to sprint the last meters did not help. The result: 7.04. Damn. But at least I have a good reason for train more:-). The mind: 4 seconds it is not physical, it is psychological…

13th of December, a good week of training and about leadership..

Today we celebrate the ”St Lucia” day in Sweden. Coffee and the star-guy and the ginger-cookie man will come for a visit:-).

1441814758912[1]

The challenge this week was a swimming and gym workout. So 1000m swimming and a tough bench-press workout, it did feels. So why all this training all the time? Well the answer will come:-). The training over all this week results in: 10 workouts within 6 days, and 10 h and 14 minutes of totally training.

Today I will give you a chronicle over leadership. When it comes to outdoor/adventure leadership it is applicable even to business. The big difference will be the effects of making wrong decisions. In the adventure environment it can result in serious injure, or even death. Whatever you got the same challenges in both areas. To begin with, becoming a leader or a guide it is important to have first of all in mind:

engineering-leadership-vision-101-3-638[1]

Now it is not all about YOU, it is all about others…

As a guide or a leader, you must be encouraging, motivating and developing. Your self and others.

Administrative-Leadership[1]

Another thing to have control of in the business as well in the mountains, will be fear. Fear have ruin a lot, you must be brave. Brave to say yes, but most important to say NO. In the business it is always a choice of prioritization. If not saying NO, nothing will be delivered or done in a proper way. The same as a guide, when a client try to go further than his or her ability, YOU must say no. So here it comes to physical and psychological training. The better prepared you are, the better decision will be done of you. The more difficulties you exposure your self with, the better leader you will become. A mountain-leader got the advantage to do failure. Either you reach the summit, or you fail. And out of that you become stronger and more prepared.

And as a leader you most show the way..

johncmaxwell383606[1]

Developing and lead by example, that is what I try..

It is also very important for the leader to build up a strong group felling and get all to be happy, and get the challenge in the right level for everyone.

So when it comes to choosing guide, consider all this things. Who will be the one to guide you for your adventure:-)

And now over to this weeks contest:

imagesMTEFAUS5

Today we open the door number twelve, and got some news in the outdoor world…

The only swedes over 8000m this year had been Fredrik Strang and Daniel Akerman. And from now on Mc Kinley has its old namn back, so the official name is Denali. the height has been measured to 6190m.

Hopefully it will become more chill weather, and some ice. If you want to ice-climb, Abisko can be a good alternative.

lucka-11[1]

Today it is time for open the eleventh slot, life is better then the alternative isn’t that right or not:-)

Today was ”a fucking Friday” which means tough training.  But  what would life be without adventure and training. I remember one morning waking up in a tent, stare into Mattias Jansson’s  eyes. He looked at me and says: you are a real sleep, eat and training machine. And that is what I am. What would life become without training and adventure..So today I celebrate the adventures. Take a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, and celebrate the adventures. It has been a hard work week this one  I can tell, but tomorrow it will be a running morning and  already longing for it..Being in the nature environment makes me powerful and enthusiastic. Take the time tomorrow, doing a good training and enjoy it, really enjoy it for the life it selves.

I really think this has been one of the best year in my life so far, as every year:-). But that you can read about when it comes to my yearbook.

Train, and do it for to plate your life..

Today we open door nine, today we will learn not to follow the line..

For becoming a better guide and human, you need to develop. If you fallow all others tracks you will not become better. We think 80-90 000 thoughts every day, and 90% of them is the same we thought yesterday. So you have do challenge your self, and your A good guide is prepared for the challenge he or she meets…

Today we open number eight, to change is never late…

Today it is all about go with the flow. I know, I talk a lot of training. But the training is for being prepared. I said it before and I will say it again: Train for life, but don’t live for the training…

Sometimes is just good to let the day become what it will. Enjoy what it ends up in. Just relax..

go-with-the-flow-1[1]

If you don’t change tempo time to time, you will not be able to reach the end. You cant go for fully machine, then you burn your self out..

December the 7th, and about to get out from the comfort zone

images6ZYWCTNI

On the winter night shines the moon, try something new and get out from the comfort zone…

Today the training was a tough one, and as our coach says; When the ”rest” is harder than the work, what will prevail? The mind or the body?
You have a choice.
The body will want to stop but the mind must prevail. You will be stronger on the other side if the mind can come out of the battle victorious.
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable

It is here you start to take a step further..The only thing to fear is the fear it selves, nothing else.

images[2]

Everyone strive after the balance in life, we want the perfect situation. The perfect and optimal conditions. Today it will be a good day you think, and something distract you and you blame it for not being the perfect day. It is here your mind comes in. You must be the one steering your life.

And smile, The more you smile; you will discover yourself developing a new positive demeanour.

Ready for glaciers, and hard training?:-)

See ya tomorrow…

6:th of December, a contest and a tribute to Jamtland.

images[8]

Today we open the 6th door, and maybe after this you will visit Jamtland more..

Today I will give a tribute to Jamtland. There is so lot of trails and mountain cabins well worth to visit. Three of my favourites is the trail from Ramundberget to Faltjagarstugan and Helags.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A view from Faltjagarstugan towards Helags..

The second is the area in Valadalen, it is more a pre-mountain area. Perfect when the weather up in the higher alpine area it to windy.

The third one is in the eastern mountain area of Jamtland. Anaris. A seldom visit mountain cabin.
